Mitchell Kosterman's Interview

FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T YET KNOW, CAN YOU TALK ABOUT YOU PLEASE ?
Hello there. My name is Mitchell Kosterman. I am a Canadian actor who works on mostly American Film and Television projects shot in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Vancouver is at the southernmost point on the west coast of Canada on the Pacific Ocean. I was born near Vancouver on February 4th, 1958.
I started acting in 1987. On Stargate I played an ATF Agent in the episode “Seth” in the third season, and Colonel Tom Rundell in the episodes “Heroes I” and “Heroes II” in the seventh season. I also played Sheriff Ethan Miller on Smallville.

WHEN YOU DON’T WORK, WHAT IS YOUR HOBBY?
I spend a lot of time working but when I am not, I enjoy writing and reading. I have a house that I am renovating and I like to work in my garden. My brother and I also race rally cars (Subaru Imprezza WRX) from time to time, although not recently. I am also a Scout Leader. But most of my free time is spent with my three children playing games and camping.

SINCE YOU'VE STARTED IN THIS JOB, WHICH CHARACTER YOU PLAYED IMPRESS YOU THE MOST ?
The one that made the biggest impression on me was Sheriff Ethan Miller of Smallville. The main reasons are, I played him for a long time and I had a lot to do with the development of the character. I enjoyed playing that role very much.

WE NOTED THAT YOU PLAY MAINLY CHARACTERS REPRESENTING THE AUTHORITY (MILITARY, SHERIFF, RANGER, DEPUTY, POLICEMAN, DETECTIVE…). ARE YOU CLOSE OF THIS ROLE ? WHY ? WOULD YOU LIKE TO INTERPRET OTHER CHARACTER?
I would like to do other types of characters but the auditions I get are usually cop type roles. I have no control over this but I am not complaining. I really enjoy them. I have a law enforcement background. In my younger days I worked as a Corrections Officer and I recently retired from the British Columbia Attorney General’s office where I worked as an Investigator for 14 years.

HOW CAN YOU GET THIS ROLE ON STARGATE ?
I got the role on Stargate because Andy Makita, Robert Cooper and Michael Greenberg thought I might be right for the job. They asked me to come and audition and decided I was the right person. They all know me well from previous work. All of us have been working in Vancouver for a long time.

DO YOU KNOW STARGATE UNIVERSE BEFORE YOUR ARRIVED ?
Oh, yes. I am a fan of Stargate. I think the TV show is much better than the movie. It has great writing and I am a fan of SciFi shows in general.

YOU PLAYED ON « HEROES », WHICH WAS THE SADDEST EPISODE ON STARGATE’S STORY AND MARKED THE DEATH OF AN IMPORTANT CARACTER. HOW HAPPENED THE SHOOTING? HOW WAS ATMOSPHERE ON THE STATES? WHAT DID YOU FEEL?
The atmosphere on set was one of friendship, as it always is. The Stargate cast and crew are very nice and helpful. Almost like a family. I would love to be a permanent part of that family.
I was honoured to be the one to announce the death of Dr. Fraser because Teryl Rothery is a friend of mine. She was once married to my former agent Bruce Ward, who remains my good friend. Teryl is an angel.

DID YOU HAVE BEEN RECONTACTED TO BEGIN YOUR CARACTER OR AN OTHER TO THE SEASON 9 OF STARGATE SG-1? IF YOU WILL, WHICH WILL YOU INTERPRET? CAN YOU TELL US MORE?
I have not heard that I will be included in any new scripts but one does not usually get any advance notice of such things. It usually comes as a surprise. In this case, it would be a very welcome, pleasant surprise. I would prefer to play Tom Rundell again because he is part of the Cheyenne Mountain staff and I considered that a special honour.

YOU PLAYED ON MACGYVER. WHICH CHANGES HAD YOU NOTED ABOUT RICHARD DEAN ANDERSON ON MACGYVER AND ON STARGATE? HOW IS IT BEHIND THE SCENE?
His hair is a little greyer but he is still a very handsome man. He was nice back then and he is nice now. He is highly intelligent and he cares about people and this planet. Are you aware of his battle to end the slaughter of seals in Canada?

DO YOU HAVE MORE AFFINITY WITH SOME ACTORS THAN OTHERS IN THE SHOW? HOW IS THE ATMOSPHER OF SHOOTING GENERALLY?
I know Don Davis and Teryl better than most of the other cast. Don was a friend of my dad’s for years and he lived quite close to me. He and I have worked together many times and we see each other often because we audition for the same roles. He is a very kind man and he is one of the funniest people I have ever met. He tells a joke very well.
The atmosphere on the set is generally very relaxed and happy and supportive. It is the best place to work; no exceptions. Andy, Michael, Coop, and all the cast and crew are simply the best.

STARGATE SG-1 TAKES A NEW WAY. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE SHOW?
I am glad to see the show is growing and not becoming stagnant. I like the new story lines. I understand some people are unhappy with the big changes but I think it is good to see new things.

DO YOU HAVE AN ANECDOTE ABOUT THE SHOOT OF STARGATE?
One day on the set, I wanted to tell Robert Cooper how much I liked his writing. I get nervous around people I admire sometimes and I often say the wrong thing. I approached him as he typed away at his laptop computer.
I wanted to tell him his writing was better than any other TV writing but I said something that almost sounded like an insult. I was so embarrassed I couldn’t speak any more and I just walked away feeling silly. Luckily, Coop knew what I meant. If you listen to the DVD commentary for Heroes II you can hear him tell the story. I was very relieved to know he understood. It is just more evidence what great people the Stargate people are.

WOULD YOU PLAYING ON STARGATE ATLANTIS? WHY?
I auditioned only once. I don’t know why I have not auditioned more. Perhaps there just isn’t any role that is right for me.

DO YOU THINK THAT IT IS AN EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIFE?
I think it is possible.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE TIME YOU USED FOR ANSWER AT MY QUESTIONS. ALL THE TEAM AND ME WISH YOU A GOOD CONTINUATION AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN ON THE SHOW.
(He answers us in french : )
De rien. Merci beaucoup, Le Delirium, pour avoir pu parler à des personnes de France. C'est un vrai plaisir.

April Telek's Interview

For people who don't yet know, can you talk about you please?
Talk about myself? Well I could go on for days...I am an actor afterall! LOL. I'm kidding of course. I'm actually not good at talking about myself at all, so I'll keep it short.
I began my career as a child model, and made a stab at the film industry with a couple of commercials, but it was a number of years before I got my first speaking role in a film...10 YEARS to be precise! I am an extremely blessed girl, through all the struggles and roadbumps an actor must go through on the very difficult road to the top, I had the undying, relentless support of my family...that, is a gift, that could never be surpassed!
Since my first part, I have appeared in over 80 films or television shows, and have made my sole income as an actor for the past 10 years.

When you don’t work, what’s your hobby?
I love to go to fly to Las Vegas to spend some time with my sister and the "main man" in my life, my nefew, Zachary. I also love to go fishing, camping, play poker, and golf...I'm sound a bit like a boy, don't I?!

Since you've started in this job, which character you played impress you the most ?
The character I loved playing the most would have to be Dr. Sara Beckman in "The Immortal". I got to play her for 22 episodes of the series, and found it a very fun character to play.

Do you know Stargate universe before your arrived?
I knew of the show, and had seen parts of the series before, but I had never seen a full episode...that is true however of most shows. I don't watch much TV at all.

What do you like on Stargate Universe?
I think the cast, the sets, the storylines are all amazing! Really, really high quality all around.

You know Michael Shanks, Christopher Judge and Paul McGillion. Can you tell us about them, their actor’s play, any anecdotes?
I know Michael from around town and "the biz" in general, and have "hit some balls" with Christopher at the driving range once or twice, and Paul and I actually shared a house in Los Angeles for a while, patonically, of course.

Can you tell us about your caracter : Sallis?
Sallis is an "ancient" whose body is taken over by the character Claudia Black plays, and she is basically used as a communication device.

What is the hardest thing to do when you play this role?
I wanted to "embody" Claudia's movements, and mannerisms...I felt it would give a better sense that it was her inside my body.

You played in "BeachHead", the episode where returns Amanda Tapping. Did you meet her?
I did not get a chance to work with Amanda, but met her briefly when she visited the set with her beautiful baby.

Would you like that an episode is centered better on your character?
Of course!! I would love to come back, and it would be fun to "explore" these characters, but I don't think that's possible...watch it, and you'll find out why!

Do you have an anecdote about the shoot?
Not really, I just had a really great time and thought Claudia especially was a BLAST to work with!

Do you know Stargate Atlantis?Would you like to shooting on Stargate Atlantis?
I'd give anything!! I don't think that will happen for a while however, as I think both shows share the same audience. I did get to visit the set of Atlantis, as Paul (McGillion) took me on a tour while they were shooting...very neat!

Instand of Stargate do you have an another project?
I just finished a guest star spot on "The Collector"...that was a fantastic show to work on as well, and a movie with Heather Graham and Molly Shannon (SNL) called "Grey Matters"

Do you think that it is an extraterrestrial life?
I think we would be foolish to believe there is only living beings on Earth. I am certainly fascinated by the idea of extraterrestrial life, and to be completely truthful, I'm conviced I've seen a UFO!

Thank you very much for the time you used for answer at my questions. All the team and me wish you a good continuation and we hope to see you again on the show.

Jaime Ray Newman's Interview

FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T YET KNOW, CAN YOU TALK ABOUT YOU PLEASE ?
Here is a little bio for you.
Jaime Ray Newman is originally from Detroit, Michigan. She began doing professional theater at age 12 and spent her summers studying drama at Interlochen Center for the Arts. She earned her Bachlor's Degree in acting from Northwestern University, in Evanston, Il. After graduating, Newman landed the part of Kristina Cassidine on ABC's soap opera "General Hospital”. Other television credits include “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”, “The Drew Carey Show," "Happy Family,” and a re-occurring role on “Stargate: Atlantis”. She recently starred opposite John Larroquette in two Hallmark movies. On film, Newman has been seen in “Catch Me If You Can”, “Living Til The End”, and Rob Reiner’s upcoming movie “Otherwise Engaged”.
In 2003, she made her L.A. theatrical debut playing the female lead opposite David Schwimmer in Roger Kumble's play "Turnaround." Last year, she performed opposite the L.A. Philharmonic in "First Nights - Beethoven" at the new Disney Concert Hall.
A musician as well, Jaime sings with her own jazz trio that frequently plays around Los Angeles. She founded the funk band "School Boy Crush," which played the 2004 ESPN Awards at the Kodak Theater.
Jaime currently resides in Los Angeles.

WHEN YOU DON’T WORK, WHAT’S YOUR HOBBY?
I am a musician, and have a regular gig with my jazz trio in Los Angeles every week. It is me (the singer), piano and bass. I also am quite athletic, and love cycling and hiking. I am involved with a theater group in LA, and am just going into rehearsals for a new play that opens in the fall as well.

DO YOU KNOW STARGATE UNIVERSE BEFORE YOUR ARRIVED ?
No! I knew of it, but had never watched the show

DO YOU LIKE SCIENCE-FICTION ?
I don't know that much about sci-fi, but read sci-fi fantasy books when I was a kid, like "The Dragon Riders of Pern" and "A Wrinkle in Time".

HOW CAN YOU GET THIS ROLE ?
I auditioned for it, like everything else. I read for it on a Thursday, and Monday was on a flight to Vancouver.

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR CARACTER : THE LIEUTENANT LAURA CODMAN ?
She's a lot of fun to play, especially because I started off knowing all the things that she was not. I knew that she had to be the polar opposite of Mckay, so that there was added tension during our scenes. She is a marine, and explosives expert. She is honest, loyal and hardworking, but a lot of fun as well. And most important, she's got a thing for Beckett!

WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING TO DO WHEN YOU PLAY THIS ROLE?
I learned how to shoot a gun, which was a lot of fun, though it never made it to the screen. I had never done something where I was so involved in an episode, with so little screen time. But it was great - no hair and makeup to do! By the end though, I missed getting all coifed!

YOU SHOOT AN EPISODE WITH DAVID HEWLETT, HOW DID IT SPEND?
David is hilarious. He is also a tremendous actor. He's lovely to watch, and I learned a lot from him. He has created this brilliant, uptight character that is endlessly interesting. Take after take, the crew would be in stitches laughing. Especially the scenes when he was coming on to Paul Mcgillion.

YOU TELL US THAT YOU SHOOT ANTOTHER EPISODE, CAN YOU SPEAK ABOUT IT?
Cadman comes back to help find a bomb on board the ship. She is also a suspected, of course by McKay, of planting the bomb. I was so complimented that they wanted me back. You see the burgeoning romance with Beckett as well, and how much it frustrates McKay. I'd love to do future episodes with the Atlantis crew!

DO YOU HAVE AN ANECDOTE ABOUT THE SHOOT?
McKay is actually naked underneath those sheets when he wakes up in my room, during "Duet". We did it several times with nude underwear on, but it didn't look right. Finally, David stripped them off, and once he did it in the buff, the scene fell nicely into place. He was very embarrassed!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE TIME YOU USED FOR ANSWER AT MY QUESTIONS. ALL THE TEAM AND ME WISH YOU A GOOD CONTINUATION AND WE HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN ON THE SHOW.
Stargate Atlantis has been a blast to work on. The cast and crew are wonderful. I have a lot of respect for the imagination of the writers, and watching the cast work together was like watching a family! I am so happy that people liked my first episode, and am complimented that they brought me back for more. Thank you for being so interested in the show!

Cliff Simon's Interview

For people who don't yet know, can you talk about you please ?
I grew up in south africa , moved to London and finished school there.
I went back to South Sfrica and into the South African Airforce for 2 years.
I was a international and olympic qualifiying swimmer and a national gymnast.
I first started in showbiz as an acrobat in stage shows and professionally danced for 12 years, then studied acting and eventually workrd on a show in south africa for 6 years as a permanent cast member .
I worked all over the world and my one high light was to work at the Moulin Rouge in Paris for 1 year.
I moved to the united states in 2000 ,worked on various projects and landed this great role as baal in Stargate, i have been with Stargate as a recurring guest now for 4 years .

When you don’t work, what’s your hobby?
My hobby and sport now is kite boarding which i do in the ocean off malibu here in Los Angeles.

How did you feel when you won the Mr. South Africa Title in 1992 ?
Winning mr s-africa in 1992 was great , as it opened a lot of doors for me as far as my acting career.

Can you tell us about your time working on Moulin Rouge in Paris? Do you like to work again in France?
I would love to work in France again and my experience at the Moulin was fantastic ,the best year of my life.
I love Paris and would love to go back.

What is your job at the Moulin Rouge? Have youg got any photography about that?
I was an acrobat dancer at the Moulin Rouge and then i was asked to understudy the principal singer which i did until i left.

You are an old Mister, a dancer and an actor. What do you like more to do? Would you liked to do another thing?
I would not dance again professionally but i would if it was a musical, i prefer to act, it was a natural progression from dancing to get into acting.

Since you've started in this job, which character you played impress you the most ?
All my acting characters have been great and interesting, i really enjoy Baal as he is the baddest guy i have played.

Do you know Stargate universe before your arrived ?
I knew of stargate before i worked on it,i never really watched a full episode though.

Do you like Science-Fiction ? Why ?
I like some sci fi but not all , a lot of it is amateurish and low budget.

How can you get this role ?
I read for Baal about 6 months before i started, before the character was created, we waited for the right part to play.

Do you like to play a « bad boy » ? What drew you to play the character of Baal?
Playing the bad boy is the best as a baddie has a lot more freedom to do what he wants to do as only the actor can create him from within the actors being.

For me, in spite of the fact that you play a bad boy, it’s hard for me to see a bad Baal, much less than Apopis or Anubis. Is it deliberate? What do you think about that?
I think a real bad boy is one who seems to be nice and i think i created that with baal .
He will always smile then kill.

Can you speak about the shoot?
Shooting the show is always fun and Peter Deluise as the director and martin wood are really great and funny to work with.

How are the conditions of work ?
The conditions on set are very professional and everyone works well together.

Can you tell us a good and a funny moments that you was on the Stargate’s set?
We always have fun on set Peter DeLuise makes me laugh a lot, but no one thing in particular.

You are the oldest actor of the show. What is the different, for you, in this season compared to others ?
The oldest mmmmmmm
If you mean the longest running bad guy then yes.
I think they like the fact that Baal is 3 dimensional meaning you see him with emotion, he smiles, laughs, is angry, he is a rounded character, i think that is why he has lasted as he hasnt become predictable or boring.

You shooted the firth part of the season nine of Stargate SG1, Can you tell us more about your caractere’s evolution?
I don’t know what the other characters said about me in it but overall my character has become very powerful and more evil.

We could see your character in a very new costume (a suit). Normally, you carry sumptuous costumes.
I have loved all my costumes for SG-1 ,the wardrobe department spends a lot of time and effort on my character and he has become this interesting ly dressed character.
In the episode of “Stronghold” my costumes change again.

Do you know if your caractere came back in the rest of the season?
An upcoming episode called stronghold Baal and tealc are in a scene together for the first time ,very interesting ,do not miss it.

Thank you very much for the time you used for answer at my questions. All the team and me wish you a good continuation and we hope to see you again on the show.
I hope this is good for you and i wish all my fans a great day and thanks for all the support.
Good luck with the site and come back often as things get very exciting.

Greg Anderson's Interview

LE DELIRIUM : Hello Mister Anderson, I would like you describe a little bit about you, we want to know who’s Greg Anderson ?
GREG ANDERSON : Oh please call me Greg, that is funny! I would like to know who is Greg Anderson also! However, for now, let’s just say that I am actor, living in Vancouver who has been very fortunate to be included in a great show. Have you seen any of Season 9 yet?

LE DELIRIUM : Sure I’ve seen the 5 first episodes, but I think it’s my job to ask questions, isn’t it? You got a very good role in the 2 first episodes…
GREG ANDERSON : Yes, the writers did a wonderful job.

LE DELIRIUM : What do you think about the new presence in the show of Ben Browder and Claudia Black? It’s a really good thing since the 8th season.
GREG ANDERSON : That would be nice. Both Ben Browder and Claudia Black are wonderful people.

LE DELIRIUM : In France, many people think the show without RDA, will be not good as before. What do you think about that?

GREG ANDERSON : I think, for the long running fans of SG1 that would be a concern. That said and done, my understanding is that Richard was ready for a change and this way the show goes on. And it has grown. It is like a natural evolution. Things change. That is life.

LE DELIRIUM : Tell me, How did get the role in Stargate?
GREG ANDERSON : Well, I was called for an audition and went in and did it. Andy Mikita, the Director, cast me, we had worked together a while back on Stargate (when I played "Webber").

LE DELIRIUM : What was the hardest thing you did when you played this role ?
GREG ANDERSON : Learn the lines, that truly is the hardest thing.

LE DELIRIUM : Tell me more about your activities now, what do you do ?
GREG ANDERSON : I am part of a small theatre company and we are geeting our next season ready to go. It is a busy time of year here in Vancouver. www.firstimpressionstheatre.com that is our theatre company, we are in the process of updating it right now.

LE DELIRIUM : I’ve reviewed the last episode of SG1, it’s awesome ! I like when your character said to Daniel: "Explain to other what you seen here", it’s uge ! It’s more dramatic for the future I really like it. It’s very good for the show. It’s the most important moment of the episode.
GREG ANDERSON : I am sure the writers have a reason for why we say what we say. It was rather ominous though. Now Daniel has to go back and tell everybody that here they come and we may have trouble stopping them....if we can!

LE DELIRIUM : I would like to know if we got a chance to see you again in the next episodes of the show.
GREG ANDERSON : I haven't heard if I will be back at all actually.

LE DELIRIUM : We already know your character is the episode called “The Fourth Horseman”, please tell me your character didn’t die at the end of the episode.
GREG ANDERSON : Well.... a prominant prior does die.

LE DELIRIUM : I take that for a “yes”.
GREG ANDERSON : Well you are free to think what you will!

LE DELIRIUM : You play in lot of Sci-Fi Shows, Do you like Sci-Fi?
GREG ANDERSON : I do yes. I like the way that science fiction makes you think and encourages debate, that said and done, I think my "look" is better for Science Fiction! Lol.

LE DELIRIUM : How many times did you spend in make up during a working day?
GREG ANDERSON : It takes two hours.

LE DELIRIUM : whow ! It's so lonnngggg lol
GREG ANDERSON : They have a WONDERFUL make up crew. Yes, I guess it is, however it doesn't feel that long until the eyes go in!

LE DELIRIUM : Yes, but it’s the result is very impressive and beautiful.
GREG ANDERSON : Yes, they did a great job.

LE DELIRIUM : Tell me more about your day of work…
GREG ANDERSON : Well the night before i will get my call time, I pray that it is not too early, and then I show up. My last call time was 7:00 AM If I recall correctly. I arrive on set and have a coffee and get into partial costume and head to the FX make up trailer. Put in some "prior" music and let the make up folks do their magic. We tend to talk a lot and laugh while this is going on.
After about two hours, I will go back to my trailer and read over the day sheet (they have the dialogue for the day and tell me what is shooting and in what order) and re-read my lines so I don't forget them when the camera rolls and relax until I am called to set for a rehearsal.
Once rehearsal is done and the "blocking" is taken care of it is back for more coffee and chatting with who is around. When the setup is ready I would get called to set and we prepare for the shoot.

LE DELIRIUM : It’s very nice to you to tell us how it is your day of work because many fans ask questions about the subject.
GREG ANDERSON : The whole day is usually very fluid, as each set up requires different amounts of time.
After the lunch break it is back to the same thing. Basically it is a lot of waiting around while real people do real work so we can play make believe!

LE DELIRIUM : I wanted to know which are the best qualities to be a actor of Sci-Fi?
GREG ANDERSON : That is an interesting question. I was discussing this last week with some actors, do you go to opera? Or have you gone to opera?

LE DELIRIUM : No I don’t sorry. I prefer watching plays.
GREG ANDERSON : ahh...well it is interesting, as I think all good Science Fiction and actors of Science Fiction, have an Operatic quailty about it and them, and the actors that I have met.....these guys and girls are smart! I am the dumb one of the bunch.

LE DELIRIUM : Then you think opera is interesting for Sci-Fi acting.
GREG ANDERSON : There is an inherent theatrical essence in sci-fi actors which makes them capable of playing "the truth" in unbelieveable circumstances.

LE DELIRIUM : Can you speak about the episode "The Fourth Horseman" ?
GREG ANDERSON : Well, about the only thing about "The Fourth Horseman" that I would like to say is that I got to work with Louis Gossett Jr. That was a great honour. He truly is one of the great actors out there. The interesting thing that I have found in my career, is that the better the actor (not just celebrity) the nicer the person. I think that it is no secret that Garek becomes a Prior. Suffice it to say that the viewers will have to wait till Part 2 to see him in full Prior form.

LE DELIRIUM : Thanks you Greg.
GREG ANDERSON : I am happy to speak again with you !

David Nykl's Interview

For people who don't know, can you talk about you : your life, your hobbies, your career, your favorite role since your beginnings?
My life? Hmmm. Let me think... I live in Vancouver, I work as an actor, writer and occaisionally as a director of theatre. I have been involved in theatre, film and TV most of my professional life and in the past few years I've enjoyed being paid for it. I travel frequently, to the cities of Europe for the culture and social intelligence, and to the wilds of Canada for the peace and the dramatic environment. My favourite role is always the one I am working on. It has to be.

Can you describe us Dr Radek Zelenka and his relationship with the other characters and the hardest and the easiest thing to do when you play this role?
Zelenka is a thorough scientist, which means he concentrates on his work sometimes to the detriment of other relationships. He gets along with everybody though, due to the respect he has earned. Playing the role is great fun. It's neither easy nor hard. It's both.

In season 2, can you speak us about the evolution of your caracter and if there is an episode will be centered on him?
Grace Under Pressure features a lot of Zelenka, in the Jumper with Sheppard. I enjoy very much working with Joe and hope to do it again.

In the future, how do you imagine your character?
Zelenka should have at least three alien girlfriends.

We wanted to ask you for an anecdote but we interviewed Jaime Ray Newman who we sent this photography. A comment?
The photo says it all. I can't believe you have a copy of that! It's from Critical Mass.

A word for a member and for the website?

Thank you very much for the time you used for answer at my questions. All the team and me wish you a good continuation and we hope to see you again on the show.

Merci à vous.

David Nykl

Paul McGillion's Interview

For people who don't yet know, can you talk about you please?
I was born in Paisley, Scotland - one of seven kids - grew up in Canada - have an education degree - been acting for 15 years professionally - and I love what I do on Stargate - Atlantis!!! I like chocolate ice cream, funny movies and you can't get me near a rollercoaster!

When you don’t work, what’s your hobby?
When not at work, I love to run, play tennis, go out for dinner - I also love getting involved in making independent films.

Since you've started in this job, which character you played impress you the most?
I've been fortunate enough to play many characters during my career - but right now - I am thoroughly enjoying the complexities of playing Dr. Carson Beckett on Stargate - Atlantis. What a great set!

How did you get cast for the show, Stargate?
Years ago, I did an episode of SG-1 called "Torment of Tantalous" playing Ernest Littlefield, the first man to go through the Stargate. I think the producers remembered me and gave me an opportunity to come in for Stargate - Atlantis and having been born in Scotland - they felt I could do the role justice.

Can you speak about Dr. Carson Beckett?
Dr. Carson Beckett is the head of medicine on Atlantis. The character has a charming sense of humour, wears his heart on his sleeve and is passionate about his work. Let's not forget to mention his soft spot for the ladies.

How do you see this passage of guest to a regular character?
The fans grasped onto Carson as soon as the pilot aired, and thankfully the writers listened! Subsequently, Beckett became a regular. I feel blessed to be part of such a great ensemble cast.

Now that you can see more, how will you evolve your character?
Beckett will become even more flushed out in the second season - getting an opportunity to go off world and get involved in alot of the action.

Will it make more confidence for the action’s scenes as on board Puddle Jumper?
As time goes on, Beckett will become more comfortable with his environment as he spends more time in the Pegasus galaxy.

Would you like to have an episode which centered more on your character?
Season One - "Poison in the Well" was a heavy Beckett episode and episodes such as: "Instinct", "Conversion" and "Michael" in Season Two have a lot of focus on my character. I truly enjoyed being given lots to work with. And don't forget to look for "Duet" - where you'll ge a chance to see some great Beckett/McKay moments.

We could see McKay to kiss Beckett. How did this scene occur?
Good question - I'm still trying to figure that one out!!!

What is the hardest and the easiest thing to do when you play this role?
The hardest - putting up with David Hewlett still trying to kiss me Wink
The easiest - just coming to set every day - what a great show to work on!!

If you directed an episode one day, what could be the scenario?
Beckett stranded on an island surrounded by beautiful French women, and hopefully no way home...

Which episode do you shoot now? Can you tell us more?
Allies - the season finale. I can tell you that it will leave the season on a bit of a cliffhanger.

How do you see the show evolving? Do you think which will still last a few years?
If the fans are willing to watch us for a few more years - if we can have half of the success SG-1 has had - I would be pleased and honoured with that! So, keep watching!!

Do you think that it is an extraterrestrial life?
Yes, definitely. I believe it would be arrogant to think we are the only ones that exist out there.

Will French have the chance to meet you?
Keep your fingers crossed! I'll keep you posted! Funny you mention that - looking good for Beckett in Paris in December for a convention.

Thank you very much for the time you used for answer at my questions. All the team and me wish you a good continuation and we hope to see you again on the show.

Paul McGillion aka Dr. Carson Beckett

Robert Picardo's Interview

For people who don't yet know, can you talk about you please?
For people who'd like to know more about me, I recommend they visit www.robertpicardo.com. Next year, I celebrate 30 years as a professional actor having worked in all media--broadway theater, television and films.

When you don’t work, what’s your hobby?
Cooking is my hobby

Since you've started in this job, which character you played impress you the most?
I've played a number of characters that have impressed me, particularly Doctor Richard on the television series "China Beach".

Do you know Stargate universe before your arrived?
Yes, I was familiar with "Stargate" before my arrival, but I know much more about the show now.

How did you get cast for the show, Stargate?
I was offered the role of Richard Woolsey by the show's producers.

Can you speak us about your character, Agent Richard Woolsey, and what do you think of him?
Richard Woolsey was introduced as a villain--a henchman of evil Senator Kinsey. But we came to discover that his motives are good. He truly believes in necessity of civilian oversight with military operations. He often does the wrong thing for the right reasons.

Your character is very ambiguous. Will it evolve?
The character is evolving. His positive motives are clear, but he still likes to exert his authority over Stargate command--or at least try.

What is the hardest thing to do when you play this role?
The hardest thing is not cracking up over Chris Judge and his antics.

You shoot on the season 9. What do you think about the new season and about changes of the show?
I think Season 9 has a great deal of action/adventure and humor. Ben Browder brings a real sense of fun like Harrison Ford's Hans Solo character. I have shot two episodes out of the first 14 shows.

Do you have an anecdote about the shoot?
During a scene when we are eating, Chris Judge, whose back was to camera, tried to make us laugh by playing with his food in grotesque and silly ways.

Would you like to shooting on Stargate Atlantis?
Yes, of course, I would like to play my character on "Stargate Atlantis" as well. There are several actors that have appeared on both shows.

Instand of Stargate do you have an another project?
In addition to "Stargate" I play a recurring character on a new NBC series about the Pentagon called "E-Ring," starring Dennis Hopper and Benjamin Bratt. It premiered last night, September 21st in the States. I also starred in an episode of a new showtime series called "Masters of Horror".

Do you like Science-Fiction ?
I don't read much science fiction anymore, but I enjoy watching it.

Do you think that it is an extraterrestrial life ?
Of course, there must be extraterrestrial life and I hope they are great fans of my work.

Thank you very much for the time you used for answer at my questions. All the team and me wish you a good continuation and we hope to see you again on the show.

Best wishes,

Robert Picardo

Ronny Cox's Interview

For people who don't yet know, can you talk about you?
I was born in a small town in New Mexico... Cloudcroft, and wanted to be an actor and singer for as long as I can remember. My dad played at dances when I was a kid and I was calling Square Dances by the time I was 10yrs old.

When you don’t work, what’s your hobby?
I spend all my time either acting or playing music. I'm working on my 5th CD at the moment. If you want to check out my music you can go to: ronnycox.com the music can be listened to of downloaded.

You have an impressive resume, what would you prefer on yours film or series? What was the most difficult for you?
Acting is acting... I have no preference between film and TV, although you get a little more time in films. Each role presents it's own unique set of problems that one has to solve, so in that sense they are all of equal difficulty.

Do you know Stargate universe before your arrived ?
No, when I first started on Stargate I was totally ignorant of that universe... of course, I have since come to love the show... my character and especially the other actors on the show....particularly, Rick.

How can you get this role ?
I was just offered the part. I liked the script and after we filmed it... I had such a great time the producers asked me if I would consider playing Kinsey more and I jumped at the chance.

You play a cold, antipathic character and we never know what to think about it. Can you speak about that?
The thing I like most about playing Kinsey are the changes the writers have allowed him to have.

Your character changed a lot in the seasons. In which episode did you prefer to play?
They've pretty much tailored scenes for him in direction I had indicated I would like to go.

Will we review Kinsey in the other episode ? If we will, can you tell us more?
They have been very accomodating and have treated me like royalty anytime I do the show.

How are the conditions of work ?
I like all the actors on the show, but I am particularly fond of working with Rick.

Would you like to play on Stargate Atlantis?
I would love for Kinsey to show up on Atlantis.... that be fun! Seriously, I would go anywhere to work for the writers and producers of Stargate SG1... in my opinion they are the best people in the business to work for... and I would do anything to act in a scene with my good friend Teryl.

Thank you very much for the time you used for answer at my questions. All the team and me wish you a good continuation and we hope to see you again on the show.
All the Best,
Ronny
